The American Southwest Part 4: Lake Powell

The American Southwest Part 4: Lake Powell

From (before) dawn until dusk, the Crew was on the move. After the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, and Horseshoe Bend, we crossed over into Utah in search of our first campsite.

We Googled campgrounds and made some calls, but we weren't too thrilled with the options. Faced with sleeping in a Walmart parking lot, we decided to venture off to Lake Powell.

I knew nothing about this spot before arriving, but holy shit, what a place. The campground was full, but they had plenty of primitive style camping available right on the beach. We camped along the edge overlooking "Lone Rock" and watched lightning flash in the distance.

If you ever venture to the Southwest, you must stop at Lake Powell. I wish I had more time to swim and explore here. It was incredible!
